I cannot draw with lines. That should be no secret to anyone. I find it very hard to practice, mainly because I do not enjoy it. Like many other things in art, I enjoy seeing linework, but I do not enjoy doing linework. My drawings are quick schematics to get to painting with color as fast as possible. The only way to override that tendency is to draw things that are meaningful to me, and that includes fan art. This is one of such many studies, of Pyke, probably my favorite character from the League of Legends universe. I am not a character designer, I am a painter and I do this for fun. Yes, I could've started from this, gather up a bunch of reference boards and "redesign" Pyke with different props, change the colors, the hairstyle, and create something "new". But that takes a lot of effort, particularly even more for myself, and, quite frankly, I don't see the sense in it. I didn't want to create a new skin. I wanted to paint Pyke exactly how he is, ...

I am thinking more and more about completely switching to this blog instead of posting on social media. It's much more personal, and because it requires extra effort, I can be relatively sure that the people coming here would be interested in the same things as I am. No matter the numbers, it can be only one, and it's enough. It's either this or some form of Patreon.
