Learning stylization from Loish

I don't believe Loish needs any kind of special introduction, she's followed by over 2.5M people for very good reasons. But, as I have in the past, I can talk about her influence on me and the many things I have learned from her Patreon videos.

There's much more than just learning. She single-handedly brought me back to art a couple of times. She has a way with words, and I find her demos and explanations relatable and soothing. She has always, always taken the time to answer compassionately and in-depth to whatever anyone had to ask, her teaching is clear and concise, unpretentious, she was always open to talk about her struggles, which are all so relatable, and her painting techniques are simple to understand and give great results.

She's genuine and a beautiful human being. To me, those are qualities that are infinitely more important than wrist mileage and skill (although skill she does not lack), and, frankly, qualities more important than anything else in life: being kind. A lesson many artists have yet to learn.

But the most important thing Loish has taught me, although she has no specific tutorial on that, is to be free. To accept mistakes (no one will ever see them anyway) and always go forward instead of obsessing over the trivial. To paint anything as I want it, without asking for permission, particularly from peers. To live and be able to enjoy art (maybe for the first time)!

I am currently learning some extra stylization techniques from her, and putting some extra work into my line drawings, an area that I can't say is my cup of tea. Line drawing has been pretty much just like graphic lasso painting for me: I like seeing it, but I do not like doing it. But some improvements to my basic sketches are always welcome, and I'm always excited to learn stuff from wholesome people. Maybe I'll find some beauty in it.

This is the result of following the steps from her latest Patreon tutorial. I enjoyed it and I already applied it to other sketches I've done. I will show some of those in the future.
